According to an expert, if the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approves a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the near future, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) could potentially reach $185,000.
The expert, Tom Lee, believes that the approval of a spot ETF would create an “imbalance” between demand and supply, leading to a significant increase in BTC prices. Despite its recent price fluctuations, Bitcoin remains the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.
The SEC has previously dismissed applications for a Bitcoin ETF but recently faced a court ruling supporting the assertion that measures are in place to prevent market manipulation in a Bitcoin spot ETF.
Given the recent court ruling and growing interest in the cryptocurrency market, some analysts are optimistic that the SEC will be more likely to approve a spot ETF in the coming weeks or months.
