Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced its withdrawal from Canada owing to new stablecoin guidelines that render the Canadian market “no longer tenable” for its operations. New regulations forced exchanges to get clearance before allowing users to acquire or deposit stablecoins, necessitating additional due diligence measures. Even if it disagrees with the new guidance, Binance will continue to engage regulators.
